Ayayay, this is pure anarchy. Because of the Nobles' previously trashy stuff they did to slaves, the slaves resorted to extorting their helper because they were previously abused and had to scrape every single they of their lives. I lowkey still support the slaves but not their actions of resorting to extorting the city lord. The nobles caused this hatred among the slaves and I think they'll have to break their caste system to fix this problem but then again, they're too high up their asses that they can't even think about other people.

I think something is amiss there. And the focus is going to the wrong place, maybe purposely even. Saying "Nobles are assholes to the slaves" just because the noble above them was an asshole is exactly the bias that Lord was talking about.
    .
Roles reversed, saying "Slaves are animals that know nothing but violence" is also wrong, when in reality most of them are just going with the flow, led by just a few shrew individuals and pushed by their general circunstances.

Overall this is an excelent material to pave the story. but as I said, the focus is amiss and it might be something intentional. I don't see the point on MC's lashing onto slaves, it just adds fuel to the fire, but oh well, let's see where this goes :9

Yeah, EXACTLY! They're now driven by their greed and the MC can't understand that. Just like with unordinary(if u do read it) dealing with things violently won't get you anywhere

Yeah, that's actually the case there too. If we're being played with "narrator's POV" that would be quite the twist in any story. But until the actual reveal, we all get confused ( ̄∇ ̄")

Nah fam... this is textbook imperialism. Hence the emperor? Anarchy would have a lack of government. As fucking gross as it is that the emperor USED TO BE A SLAVE AND DID NOT THEN ABOLISH SLAVERY (seriously author i hope that was on purpose and not just a tacit approval of the system) Genuinely wish Niro had just continued on the bent of killing this assholes. I feel like it's going to take the 'killing is bad' route, but personally, i'm of the opinion that killing an innocent person and killing a rapist murderer are... ya know... different. like at some point being a pacifist just doesn't get you anywhere, because people tend to like to keep the power they hold, and don't want to give it up. i would argue that they had no other choice, than to rise to the extreme. because asking nicely will never work if the person you are asking considers you sub-human. like... BE greedy for human rights. BE greedy for safety. idk bro i feel this is just not it

Meh, even in reality, I'm not really fond of killing criminals regardless of the means unless you have to like a shootout. Because what if, in the story's case, there are actually nice slaves and shit like that. I don't think we should ever normalize any like death sentences and shit

I meant to say like, others should be given a chance, regardless of their past

Somewhere I read something like it's not about judging bad deeds what justice is about, but to call attention to them. Confusing justice and judgement as the same thing is to get drunk on biased self-righteousness.
