It's just me speculating this but okay here we go
Do you remember the flashbacks about Caude and Anastacius's past? And the scene where Anastacius was "staring" at the woods near the fence? He looked more like mesmerized or hypnotized or smth, like he was reacting pretty strange when Claude called him over right?
From that scene I always imagined there was something wrong with him
And now Lucas just mentioned that the mana he was feeling from the ribbon was Aeternitass', sooo I was thinking wouldn't it be possible that Aeternitas is partly possessing Anastacius for some kind scheme against the royal family or probably Lucas who treated him bad (or not) and it probably started at that fence with him staring at the woods or smth
