I know people may not like what Im saying or will like that i like this story. But yes, this story is about a black woman and a white woman in love during the slavery times. It is a story and not real life, and could have happened. Maybe the author wanted to show that even through the sadness and how horrific that our people dealt with this situation, there were those who were fortunate and had great people who bought... Them. This yuri comic might be romanticizing black women or slavery but god damn it can we just be happen that this is a start to seeing OUR people in these comics as main characters?! Signing off, anonymous black user :)

uhm hell no...? it's insensitive. The after affects of slavery and discrimination against black people are still here today, and to see our struggles, our pain, and our history being romanticizes is insensitive. If us as black people have to bow down low and praise a story that has a black person as a mc that has slavery painted in a good light I do not want it.This should not be the start us as black people should want/have in diversity in gl comics. We should not accept this low of a bar. The authors intention may or may not have been to show the places where slavery wasn't as bad as other places, but doing that only fuels the delusional narrative that "hey guys, slavery wasn't ALL that bad heheheheheehehehe"...Intent does not equal impact.

i get wanting to be seen in these comics or wtv but why must black representation almost always come at the cost of black trauma? this dumb mf story is not only super insensitive but so unnecessary why couldn’t they have just written a story of mixed lesbian couple without turning it into a gross romanticization of slavery?
