1st of all, who's louise again?

2nd, grand duke are u blind or r u stupid? Nera didn't even look 1% of either u nor your lover's look & traits. Red eyes? So what? Even i could do that & claim myself as ur daughter

3rd, really? that's the best the king can do to punish nera for attempting murder/hurting a marques daughter? Imprisonment? & she can be bail? Really?

4th, does iris have amnesia or a photo of her childhood? She didn't even know what she look like as a kid?

5th, does the evil duchess know that nera is a fake coz if she didn't then why did she help nera when she know that nera is the daughter of her husband w/ another woman?

Answers??? Or plot hole???

4th i think because iris gone through her life and returned or maybe side-effects of turning back

For 5th I think that she probably thought that she would get more of the dukes love if she had a child with him after all she was the one who broke the duke and irsi's mom so she could be with him, and least that's what I think happened

For 2 I agree with you but I truly think he didn't care very much since he didn't even actually even love the current duchess.

I agree. This story has too many plot holes from the start. The problems keep on increasing without providing us solutions. :)

Louise is the empress consort son. Cousin of Duke Ian. (I don’t remember if he is really the son of the emperor)

    Disclaimer:
I am not an expert about medieval crimes and punishment. Reading medieval and historical books, novels, etc are just a hobby of mine. I’m always fascinated by medieval times story. But this doesn’t mean that I’m correct. Haha :) Sorry for a long comment with a mix of grammatically incorrect statements. It’s 3 AM here haha ( ̄∇ ̄")

As for #3, I think it depends on what era this novel is trying to portray. If it is around 1600, Nera would absolutely 100% be punished by hanging/execution, but if it is around 1800, lighter punishment like imprisonment for a long time/lost of noble title and assets would be her end game. However this is not always the case. If the power current monarch (King) is not stable then he cannot order a punishment on a certain noble who has higher power than him. He should weigh everything before he can impose a punishment especially when a high rank offender is involved and if this noble’s crime has done a great damage or injury to the society. (Usually drugs, selling of weapons to another country, slavery, human trafficking etc... Medieval periods are very lenient to rape, infidelity, and abuse btw.)

I think that the emperor in this story (forgot his name) gives only a light punishment is because of the following:

    1. Nera is the grand duke’s daughter (which is not) and the grand duke’s family is still a little bit powerful than him. Look how the grand duke’s wife made her imprisonment to 3 months knowing it is an attempted murder. She pulled some strings.

    2. He can’t also fight the grand duke thinking that they are family (Their wives are sisters and Nera is the so-called daughter). Ugh. I hate this. Remember not because you are a family means you can always have your way out. (Subordination of ranks is inevitable)

    3. Another reason is that Nera doesn’t do a crime that hurt/damage the society. She only inflicted a crime on a single person and this doesn’t affect the society, but only the Carmandy’s. Her position is higher than Marianne.

    4. It will affect Ian’s position as crown prince. They might support Louise.

    5. The grand duke protected the land and swore his loyalty on him. The emperor thought that imposing heavy punishment on Nera will only backfire on him, since people might support/favor the hero of the empire. You can sense at the end of the chapter when Iris said she needs more power and public support since grand duke is powerful in terms of noble and public. Even the duke can’t help her because the current empress is the sister of grand duke’s wife. A marquis family vs. grand duke family alone is a losing battle for her.

This is the reason why high rank nobles/monarchs punishment were almost non existent. Slaves and poor commoners always suffer because they caused injuries to society and they are also an injury to the society during that time. (● ̄(エ) ̄●)

I apologize. The current empress and grand duchess are only cousins. Haha. They treat each other as sisters tho. :)

Btw, if you want to know how powerful the grand duke is, please read chapter 66 page 10-18. :)

To be honest, I’m still reading this for the sake of love story. I don’t care about how messy its plot and I’ve never dropped a story I’ve started reading like Daughter of the emperor. (Like 100 chapters but she is still a kid lol hylt) (⌒▽⌒)
