Towards the end there's a scene with attempted rape between mc and a secondary character, but since they don't show anything explicit I couldn't really tell if the actual rape happened or not
Also it's not a big plot point, they rescued mc pretty soon and he gets over it very very fasts too. The whole thing is used more for drama purposes than anything, it doesn't cause any actual trauma
Which is why I think it was totally unnecessary but that's how it is Maybeblue
people need 2 stop using rape as a plot developer. it's sick. rape isn't just a cute lil thing to develop characters it's a deeply traumatic experience that the character(s) involved can't just simply move on from

I agree, rape is an overused trope and is skimmed over very quickly with no plot about overcoming trauma and the plot device ‘love fixes everything’ solves it which is quite underwhelming...

exactly, and honestly especially in smut bl so much non consensual behavior and like 90% is sexual assault. and then they fully show these acts by either saying "this is wrong" but then the character never shows any signs of trauma, OR it's completely normalized and 100% okay.

That seen bothered me so much. But I'm grateful Jaerim is seen telling that guy 'I don't think I will ever forgive you, but yadayada' the rest was unnecessary and I didnt agree w/ but whatever not my story.
There is implied sexual assault or rape between a side couple. Which I don't think should be in a relationship, but the reason I say implied is, because the author doesn't draw explicit scenes the they draw sort of an implied scene and aftermath. MC does get sexually assaulted for sure
Is there rape in this? ive been put off by some comments
