I think the reason why Shingo said that he didn't love Keiiichi anymore is bcuz.. Keiichi said so when Shingo told him abt the 'scent' issue - and that means Shingo did want to figure things out with Keiichi, but Keiichi went ahead and blamed Shingo for not loving him anymore ' '
but he blamed Kagami in the first place as well. Taking note on their relationship history, Shingo was always the one who mistrust, pull away easily and hurt his partner. If Kagami were to sulk everytime Shingo did something mean, their relationship wouldn't have come to this stage.
I'm just saying it was okay to be hot and cold acting distant in the past, but they're already past that stage! Shingo can't keep using the same excuse like being afraid of being left behind in that cardboard box when he was young as a metaphor. He already understand that Kagami won't ever do that to him (at least he's supposed to know that). It's just a stupid smell!! Well, I mean..it's a special smell which acts like Kagami confessing his love for him everytime they have sex. But if it's that very important to you, get to the root of it to find some answers. You don't go aloof and break up the morning after you have sex just because of one problem you can't solve. He was so shocked when Kagami said they have nothing to do with each other anymore because they already broke up. Well...imagine how Kagami would feel when Shingo told him "Let's break up" with that deadpan face.
Not everyone is strong and able to face every problem head on no matter how long their relationship has been. Have you ever had trust issues with the general population? Time wise on a relationship doesn't completely dictate that you will never react a certain way to an issue. As for Kagami saying that they already broke up - I think for Shingo, he couldn't believe Kagami could be so cold to him, like he didn't care.
You forgot he did went and find out what the missing smell means. His brother gave him the explanation. He thought the Kagami didn't love him anymore and better to be the one to end it. Not to mention Kagami this time he really gave Shingo reasons to be unsure. With the foreigner. (i like to call it The Dick btw)
Off base, i think the lack off smell Kagami know about it, and is somehow related to The Dick. And that apology is about this. I think. Not sure. I guess will fiind out in the next chapter.
Anyhow to get back to the subject. I know that Shingo is at fault to. But Kagami was the one to pursue him, almost obsessively i might say. And he promised Shingo that will never abandon him or make him feel unsure. That he will always be there for him, Lately Kagami wasn't there for Shingo. How hard is to tell a guy "Fuck off i have a bf and i love him!"
Yes, he did ask the brother. And got depressed by the answer. But Kagami told him that is not the case. In normal situation, if you're blaming someone and they pushed back the blame on you, you will feel offended and will get to the root of the matter. Kagami said he can still strongly smell Shingo's scent and he believes it means his feelings for Shingo are not gone. True, Kagami said Shingo not being able to smell Kagami's scent means Shingo doesn't love him anymore and that it's Shingo's fault. Shingo should feel offended(but he's the one who first accused Kagami about the same thing). He should be saying he loves him too. He should be angry that Kagami thinks he doesn't love him anymore and he should prove him wrong!
About leaving Kagami before he's left behind...sigh...shouldn't we be over this since volume one? or maybe two? or the next one? WE"VE BEEN AT IT AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN! At this pont of time, he should have been completely rid of that fear.
I'm the same with you on foreigner matter. We have so little information about why he has control over Kagami. We will find out more in the future chapters.
I'm not saying Kagami is completely innocent either. He gives Shingo weird vibes just because he doesn't want to bother Shingo (e.g. he refused to kiss Shingo when he came back home because he was kissed by the dick and he wanted to wash off first before kissing his boyfriend). But he didn't explain anything to him so with Shingo's personality, it's inevitable to get depressed on this kind of little things. I still think that Kagami was trying to salvage their relationship before Shingo said let's break up. Him being cold and cruel afterwards is also inevitable which is the same with Shingo's behavior. I mean, what do you expect a dude to do after he had agreed to break up his lover who he still loves? It's like little boys destroying the furniture just because his mom won't buy him the toy he wants.
Basically, they are both acting like silly kids. But I think Shingo is overdoing it with trust issue. It's feels like never ending war between north and south korea.

I've been commenting too many replies about the same thing that I'm practically spamming mangago.
About Kagami being cold, I think the guy is entitled to at least sulk this much after being told "Let's break up". Not only Shingo is entitled to be weak and fragile. He is the same with him too; not perfect when it comes to relationships. Does anybody realize this is Kagami's first love too? He was also used to playing around just like Shingo. Despite that, he is trying! He fucks up sometimes and makes many mistakes but he believes in their relationship. What does Shingo do? Run away everytime things get tough hoping Kagami will come chasing after him. That's why he was so affected by what Kagami said. It was like "Oh, he didn't chase me this time. This is really over. I'm really abandoned. Just like I thought." Well. you know what Shingo? You will keep getting cold distances as long as you keep pushing people away. Afraid of being abandoned? Don't abandon him first! Why do you want to do the same cruel thing to someone you love? Ever heard of Karma ?
You got a point here, And i'm as well upset with Shingo. And i do belive that is the time that Shingo to go after Kagami and tell him he love him. Well both of them are "idiots". Shingo with the trust issues that never end. And Kagami, well i already said a lot about thim.

But I don't think Shingo was blaming Kagami, I would say that he took courage to talk abt the problem [I thought he would have hidden it, you know, like b4]. The thing here is when a couple have problem and one want to discus abt it, the other one should help him/her by saying something like, "Oh, really? Have you been feeling that way all this time? Why? What should we do? We should figure this out together", not by saying, "You're the problem", especially when you know your partner has trust issue [I won't talk abt this issue any further]. What Kagami had said totally disvalued the discusion's importance, and when you partner says those things with those eyes and that attitude, not many ppl have the courage to "prove him/her wrong", just like Shingo's eyes and attitude when he said that he wanted to break up, Kagami thought Shingo was serious, if you know what I mean.
And one more reason for me to say that Shingo didn't blame Kagami is that in the past, when Kagami was angry or didn't have feeling for Shingo, Shingo couldn't smell him either. So I think Shingo's worrying makes sense.
I agree that Kagami is entitled to at least sulk. And I'm sure Shingo felt that Kagami was abandoning him first even though he invited Shingo to go to America with him, due to the smell and that producer. Hence, Shingo already felt some distance from Kagami in earlier chapters and that is why he said for the to break up.
Ok, so after reading this long and arduous discussion between us. I just wish the main characters actually do the same thing in future chapters!! Σ(っ°Д °;)っ
And get the damn answer about the smell from someone knowledgeable!! (the brother doesn't seem to have much explanation)
Btw, I just reread the first volume and Kagami's claim about smell depending on the one who smells it might not be totally off the track.
Because there was a time Kagami was saying things like "it's just making love on the bed (nothing more)" At that time, he's just physically attracted to this random black cat who can be a good bed partner. So he may not be intentionally emitting the smell to attract Shingo. But when Shingo heard him say that, the smell he kept getting since the first time he met Kagami suddenly disappeared. When they make up at the end of first volume, Shingo told Kagami about the smell and Kagami said he gets it from Shingo too. So I think Kagami gets the smell later than Shingo cause he fell in love with him only around chapter 3.
On the side note, let me fangirl the moment when Kagami rushed into the bar and kissed Shingo in front of everyone. Then he took Shingo to hotel and said Shingo should prepare carefully before he do him cause it's been three weeks already...and Shingo said it hasn't been three weeks,,,it has been three weeks AND FIVE DAYS Kyaaahhhhh ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ

I totally can't sympathize with you and can't understand why you're making things hard.
You're making yourself suffer including all the people around you. It's one thing if you don't love Kagami anymore but you're obviously shocked and affected by the breakup. Who cares about the smell? If you can't figure out why his smell disappeared, you go and find the answer! Not run away assuming the worst thing possible. That's how married couples solve their problems. You guys are not in honeymoon period anymore. Grow up a little! (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
