No, I think she knew Cedric loved her sister in the novel. She mentions how Cedric has a type which is green eyed blondes, and youre right that he gets depressed when she dies too.
The problem Dylan has is that her little sister dies and then Cedric goes off and gets a Happily Ever After with the "true female lead" soon after, while Dylan's family is forever missing a member. If feels like if he was going to end up with someone else anyways why does her precious little sister have to die so young for him? Just to be a plot point for his real love? No way. So she's just protecting her little sister that she loves so much. (From a Big Sister who would do the same lol)

No you're making perfect sense. Dylan is thinking that because in the novel the Heroine is who Cedric ends up with it's set in stone. But the fact is that she already changed the story so much that things won't go that way now. She just doesn't realize that yet.
