we also do that in my country if the streets are not too busy, but if there are a lot of vehicles, you better not take the chance on that red light.
btw, i think it's supposed to be green and not blue on the translation for the traffic light color in the manga.. well, since ao is both blue and green in japanese, maybe that's why.
Not many accident surprisingly.....just with youngsters and their motor bikes and A LOT of curses and fights(〜￣△￣)〜
the same here in my country hahahaha ! and at night all the three color mean the sameting GO there is no stop.

Lol here we can't go at red lights cuz there are cameras everywhere. When I went to India I saw the traffic and I was expecting a crash to happen at any second but it never did XD
