Sooyoung confesses to Taesung that he was rejecting his calls and was so upset because he went to see Taesung of his own accord, because he missed him, and ended up seeing him smiling at a woman and got mad as hell about it. (In short: Taesung is a toxic and manipulative bastard, yes, we've been fully aware from the beginning, but our precious cinnamon roll Sooyoung, too good, too pure, isn't quite right in the head either; their craziness about each other is entirely mutual and unhealthy and destructive and so passionate it'll burn them both.) Taesung wasn't at all expecting jealousy and was even dumbfounded about it. He disabused the misunderstanding, telling Sooyoung she was a friend. As usual they are rough and kinky as fuck in their couplings, Sooyoung being a sobbing, blushing, sensitive mess. Then Taesung goes into his after care and cuddling mode. (Their duality, from harsh and biting to soft and tender, is so striking.) He asks if it was too much; Sooyoung clarifies that no, it wasn't, and that he's confident in his own strength. They talk in bed, Sooyoung opening up about his childhood with his abusive father and neglecting mother, his uncle who had been the only one who gave a damn about him. Sooyoung is curious about Taesung's past too, and Taesung tells him he doesn't have any fun stories to tell. (Hiding shit is going to come back to bite you in that glorious ass, Taesung!) At the end of the chapter there is talk of incoming war and some dangerous person coming back to the country.
