i wanna take this both ways though with a positive outlook that Melissa feels burdened by the concern as well as a bit of unease that the nine he's accustomed to is changing (in a good way, but she doesn't know how to handle it) and nine on the other hand just experienced the trauma of almost losing her so it's understandable for him to freak out
but both of them will need to relearn to trust & value each other with the new dynamic they have :) that they can protect each other while also understanding that they have their own agency to make & be responsible for their own decisions
idk man, ppl tryin to make it a melissa vs nine kinda thing like either one is in the wrong, but i'm p.sure they'll be able to work through it

yea i mean i guess like he said to always have your guard up but yea if you stay stressed and tensed up like that you won't live~ kinda got frustrated by that but i guess next to that them having a quarrel is kinda good right i mean everything has been so wholesome between them we need some arguments and some good comunication for them to grow a more healthier relationship right~

its more the patriarchal society we live in that women need to be protected as if they cant defend themselves u know even lesbians get this treatment so
y'all i'm all in for strong independant women but i don't really like the 'if someone is worried about my safety or wants to protect me it's definitely because they think i'm weak = they're looking down on me' attitude. some of you guys even said he wants to suppress her or smth like, seriously? melissa said she wants to protect nine, was it because she was looking down on him? not really. did nine get angry at her for saying that? no. does she still wanna protect him now that he's awakened his powers? absolutely. so why is it such a problem if he also thinks the same? it's not that he thinks less of her now it's just that he thinks he finally has the power to not be a burden to her and doesn't want her to force herself because of her injuries. can't they just protect each other and equally get worried about each other's well being? i get the message and it's annoying af that women are treated like fragile dolls that needs to be protected at all times in manhwas but in this context it just seems like she has an inferiority complex.
