As we can see in the last pages, they cared before her death but their damn stubbornness didn't let them show how they cared about her.
They did dirty and frankly I still can't forgive their former self.
But I also pity them.
I understand why they did the things they did, but they really did Shuli wrong - all of them did. It's sad that she died thinking she was a nuisance, but it's even sadder knowing that people only began to care and mourn for her about her after she passed.
