From what I understood Tatsumi told Karino to stay away from Azusa cuz it could damage his image and future. Karino goes on talking about their father and tatsumi's duty to keep an eye on him. Tatsumi's job is to assure that Karino will have a bright future also that's the condition from his father to help him financially. If he keep an eye on Karino he will be rewarded. Also Tatsumi doesn't want Karino to call him brother inside the school because he’s an illegitimate child. Karino decides to take part in the caste game and to have fun, while calling tatsumi boring. Lol that's thr only part I cared about XDXD

As soon as I have little time l'll try and translatr the other part. I believe Tatsumi simply wanted to show Azusa where he stands,to make it clear that they have no future. So sad. Karino can't go against his family, his future has been decided since he was born. Damn, why not give up from politics and became sth like an entrepreneur, you have privacy that way and can stay with whoever you want. Karino will never stay with azusa publicly,in the end if it goes on this way azusa will simply become his "side girl" so sad...

I hopeI'm wright, ogawa chise is brilliant! So,Tatsumi and that guy were in a clandestine relationship,an excellent student could never publicly be with a poor student,so tatsumi decides to take part in the caste game cuz he considers it his last possibilty to be with this guy (after school they can't be together because of social norms) so they both take the aces and become outsiders from the ranking game=freedom. In other words, this caste game can also make you free from the real caste/society. I really really like Tatsumi,Karino just wants to recreate the real caste game with azusa (like it would be in real life) but tatsumi just wants to be with the one he loves freely, even if it is temporarly. Sooo good!! *-* best manga ever

Yes. Originally Tatsumi had a 8, which made him a prep (I think). And I believe (though I am not sure) the papers everyone was looking at were exam results. I got the impression from the picture that Tatsumi was at the top of the class (and this would also support the idea that Tatsumi helps Karino get good marks). It also suggests to me that at least some of the students have an inside track on who gets which cartds--Tatsumi got a prep card and he was Karino's prep. It also looks like Tatsumi was able to get information on where he could get an ace card when he wanted an ace. I think that even when Tatsumi didn't play, Tatsumi was never in danger of being at the target--someone would have given him an 8 all things being equal. By playing, Tatsumi chooses which card he wants to obtain and takes (nasty) action to get it. This suggests there may be a game behind the game (but I need to see the English translations to understand).
This is like the F*cked up Breakfast Club, and Tatsumi is bonding for reals with the thug. :)

lol the gif, hahaha the first one is just so good XDXD
yes, from what I got,Tatsumi never really played the game,he simply wanted to stay away from it and maintain his reputation. The same goes for Karino,he just got bored and changed his mind. Tatsumi is a year older,so they have different caste classes. Tatsumi is the best student, and when Karino says "you're boring" because tatsumi thinks that his rank is more than enough and doesn't want to create problems, he gets irritated thinking sth like "for you this is boring but other people have to work hard to get a degree and enter a good university, while your path is already paved" so yeah, karino is an a** to everyone lol Now that I remember it, Karino goes on and says that Azusa will make a good plaything and tatsumi at first doesn't understand what he means,so maybe that's why he shows azusa that for Karino it's all a game.
Anyway, like you said I can't wait for the english translation *_*

Can I again say thank you to you guys? Seriously, thank you. Seen the raws, waiting for the English scanlation but your convo helped me in understanding what is happening.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Aces could mean freedom from the whole caste system or for just that particular game? When I mean system, they wouldn't ever get involved with the game, ever, as in until they graduate from school. Or is it just an immunity for 1 round of the game? Because if it means immunity for the duration of your school life, Azusa needs that.

I find such discussions help me too. :)
The delinquent role is given by game--but I think there is evidence that some people get roles that suit them (or take cards they want). I don't think it is exactly "freedom" so much as they play the role of outsiders. It may result in more freedom, but it is still a role.

Oh wow, thank you too! ^-^ let's say I love this manga too much,it's just so good *-*

the ace are the delinquents, outside of the ranks.
Remember, Azusa said that Tatsumi was a fake delinquent when he met him outside the school.

The first hierarchy chart was rather confusing for me because I thought these "delinquents" and "mysterious guys" are just very cool guys who are too cool for the caste game. But when I saw the chart from 10.5, that was the only time I realized that they have to find a card too (aces and twos).
On 2nd thought, Azusa doesn't want to be anything else other than a king so he probably wouldn't want an ace or two. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
wait Tatsumi is the illegitimat child of Karino's father?! They're half brothers wtf is going on....seriously
