his comment infuriates me.
first of all, you have to understand the kind of pressures the dad and his partner faced being an heir to their respective stations and having specific expectations. just because he used a woman to procure an heir it doesn't mean that he doesn't value rio any less.
in the previous series he was constantly being upset on how attached he was becoming to his brother's lover. he was always dressed cutely and was essentially spoiled rotten and even that wasn't enough for him. Being a father, needing a life partner, being the boss of a conglomerate are three different parts to his person but just because he has one, doesn't make you less as the other. all of that is part of his identity.
it doesn't make him value the other parts less just because he decides momentarily to focus on one aspect at one time.it's fucking called balance.
even in this chapter alone you can visibly and legibly tell just how much affection the dad has for rio.
1. He asked like 3 times for rio to come greet him and give him a hug despite rio being a grown ass man.
2. Despite being caught red handed in a promiscuous position, the dad STILL took his hands and gently asked for his identity.
3. HE FREAKING BOUGHT THREE COPIES OF EACH MAGAZINE BOOJK THE STUDIO PRODUCED ALL BECAUSE HIS SON WAS IN IT.
and what does rio do? fucking slaps his dad's hand out of his face.
how in the world do you misconstrue all of that as the dad seeing rio solely as a tool?!?! if anyone was using someone as a tool it's Rio using that guy for his body.
quite frankly since the beginning, I've been disgusted to see that the cutie pie turned out to be a spoiled immature egomaniac man child. why? just because he gets rejected by his crush knowing full well from day one he was bound to his uncle? just because his dad consummated and officially procured a lover and has a fucking heavy ass responsibility with literal people's livelihoods at stake? and before you argue that he's not spoiled or an egomaniac, he literally asked the lover for him to be number one and essentially be the center of his world AFTER TREATING HIM LIKE SHIT.
AND FOR WHAT? just because none of his family can give him 100% of their fucking attention??!I get it. everyone gets lonely and desires human company, that's valid. but he needs to grow the fuck up and STOP AND THINK about life and other people's situation and feelings for a change. Just so that MAYBE he won't throw tantrum fits. CONTRARY TO HIS BELIEFS HE ISN'T THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL NEEDS. he was born with a golden spoon and thinks he doesn't have to worry about being courteous to people or have consideration. it makes me wanna fucking cry that he developed into that kind of man.
I understand that this is your opinion but WTH! Did you really read the prior story’s or not! I mean all of them? Because yes, Yuujin was a bit warped with his thinking cause he’s an Aristocratic and that was how he was brought up, but he realized a lot of things about himself and changed to try and be a better person, father and brother! And in the prior story’s you see that. And in regards to Takamizawa he’s been in love with Yuujin since childhood and had to endure a lot, including finally being able to have the man he’s love only to have him marry another person the very next day! So him being a manipulator....Yeah! I Don’t thing so! In this Rio is just being a spoiled brat! I mean he’s rude to his Dad but look how he behaves with Shingo! That right there says a lot! If you can Reread all the stories from the beginning so you can see!

bro he was being sensitive to the situation. the son clearly wasn't comfortable and the dad's lover clearly had tact to avert the dad's attention and get him to stop it. especially in that situation that rio was in. you clearly missed what he says after that when he goes "rio is too old to be giving his father hugs." wtf have the two of you been reading?

He is not selfish. He is right. His daddy saw him as a "successor" not a number one person. His dad used his mom for a child and his mom used his dad for money. Later both of them find their number one person's and that's it. Maybe this will be sounds like childish but human emotions is very simple. I dont like his dad too. He always criticizing others but do whatever they want. (Besides his first marriage he never sacrificed something than married with somone else but he just fastly divorced when baby born) He dont have any rights to do that. And his new husband is a manipulator trash. He always wants to take Rio's place or he always acts like Rio was a "side charchter". Nope. I hope Rio will forget both of them and will be happy in the future
