doujinshi is when creators make a manga that's based on established characters from anime/mangas. yaoi is the broad term for a sexual relationship (mlm) shown though mangas, and doujinshi can fall under yaoi and other terms too. hopefully I've explained jt well (=・ω・=)

Late but that's not what doujinshi means, doujinshi is a SELF-PUBLISHED work. It doesn't automatically mean fanfiction and/or hentai. Like this manga we're commenting on is a (hentai) doujin, with the author's original story and characters.

I wasn't saying that doujinshi isn't self published - just that they tend to typically be based of charters from previous mangas/animes,, but of course there's different types of doujinshis that aren't limited to fanfiction and could be with the authors own characters and plot

You said, and I quote, doujinshi is "when creators make a manga that's based on established characters from anime/mangas." Which is not always the case, as that is not the inherent definition of doujinshi, though as you said, there are many fanfic doujins.

(Also just realized the way I talk might seem aggressive, I'm really just making a correction)
