This is a pretty common element of Romance books with HEA. By that I mean "Chick lit" wherein the woman got pregnant in some past event or during the story and considers running away and raising the child alone after having a fight with the father. The expected end is the man finding out about the baby/pregnancy and making it work with the woman because of the child until they fall in love again or admit they still love each other.
Ignore the inclusion of the word "Chick Lit" I was thinking of something else. Romances have to have an HEA, "Chick Lit" can have a romance and no HEA.
