I wholeheartedly understand why some people may feel empathy for the emperor. And I did too, but thinking back, he chose her as empress because she was incapable to produce a child. And now that he broke off Rosamund, it gives her a reason to explain why Patrizia will never receive the long end of the stick even if it was in reach. The emperor is a piece of crap, and he'll always be. he can change himself as much as he wants, but it won't change the fact that he's selfish and naive. In her past life, he treated her and her sister like shit all because of Rosamund who he knew he didn't actually love. Im glad that Patrizia isn't immediately falling in love with him, and understands the circumstances of protecting her and her family.
