Yahwi didn't know what love is and we can trace that back to his childhood so he's not aware that his animosity towards cain is akin to jealousy and his feeling towards jooin is love so his friend is right he has sooo much to learn. That scene where he got angry to his friend for saying "poor jooin" I think that's what set him apart from cain. Yawhi can see jooin as someone who is capable not some damsel in distress who needs helping and if I may dare say he can see him as an equal.
