Yes and no! As a tourist, you'll find japan is so beautiful and etc. That's make you wanna go back there again. And if you have proper job and family or anything there, you'll call that your life is under the sunlight. So bright. But actually, when there's light, there's also shadows. Live in japan is quiet hard, as i experienced it. And also some yakuza influence etc, make live there is so expensive. Some people do shady job to earn just a little money. But most of them were traped in debt and etc. Soo.. that's why there's kabukichou, ninchoumei, and other places. At night, you'll find it 'nasty' were gathered to squeeze some money out of some unlucky people.
every country has a bad side like this to them. it's just that some aren't as prevalent whiles other may be so.
