According to the novel, the duke’s family killed the baby I think or the prince ran away with the baby after learning Elena was killed by the duke. The prince loves Elena, but didn’t have much power over the duke. The prince was weak and was so hesitant around Elena because he was worried that the duke may kill Elena at given moment and switch her out with Veronica without him noticing.

1. Who is ML? What is the huge misunderstanding?

(SPOILERS) Answer: The crown prince loves MC although he never really shown it because of the conflict. ML also knew that she's a fake. When MC died, ML kills the true daughter, Veronica, of the duke, then raised their baby alone. ML never marries again in the 1st life. He also tells the baby that her (MC) mother is a great woman. He says something like this to the baby in the novel version: “Your mother was a great person, but you were the only thing she left behind.”

ML couldn’t love MC properly because his first wife, Cecilia, even though it was just political marriage and friendship, was killed by his family. So after MC died and real Veronica took over, he recognized it wasn’t MC and killed Veronica. And the reason why he said those disgusting words? He didn’t mean it like that.

What ML meant by that is : “It was a mistake because now there is a reason for the nobles to believe MC successfully seduced the crown prince", which goes with the return of og veronica and obviously the death of FL and the fall of the whole royal family.

After the real daughter murders the MC, Veronica takes the baby Ian and goes to the ML if I’m correct and ML knows it’s not his wife right away, he finds out she killed her and then he kills her as revenge.

He takes his son Ian and raises him while mourning the ML. He never marries, his first marriage with Cecilia isn’t love, just politics. He only ever loved MC.

Also ML doesn’t reveal to the public about MC and how he loves her because you’d be stupid to do that and why? Simply because MC has no noble blood and if public found out MC had been impersonating Veronica, it would be tragic.

Give mans a chance, no one is perfect. That choice, of course, is all up to MC.

2. Who is Cecilia and Empress of ML?

(SPOILERS) Answer: Cecilia was the Empress but she refused that position. She and ML were good friends and ML thought she had that strength to become an empress, also because she had no connection with the duke.

And because Cecilia refused that position, Veronica got the chance to become the crown princess but she had this poison consumed or whatever and the fake one (MC) arrived later.

There were no romantic feelings involved between ML and Cecilia, all friendship and political benefits. Also Cecilia loved Raphael, the important painter. Cecilia didn’t want the pressure of being an empress either.

ML was pressured by other nobles to get one of their daughters in empress/crown princess position, and Veronica got a chance since she is the daughter of the most powerful duke family. So then all that happened with ML and MC (fake Veronica) in past life.

Sorry but I read the spoilers too and they confirmed my hatred for him. Why? Because anyone could see that his so-called 'actions to protect' her were gonna end in only her paying again. 'I'm hurting you to protect you' is simply a time worn excuse. Imperfection is unevenly frosting a cake not hurtful actions just because they were 'well-intentioned'. Intent is not magic after all.

Hatred for who? And you don’t need to forgive the crown prince, it’s all up to MC.
It isn’t his excuse, he had no choice. If they found out he loves MC, the baby would’ve been killed, so he killed Veronica before anything could happen and I don’t think he expected Veronica to kill MC.

That is a moment where you have no choice. You must have had some moments in life where you don’t have a choice so please don’t be ignorant about it. ML didn’t do the right thing but only because he had no choice, not to mention he was also young at that time.

When a baby is born, sometimes it would be a burden but ML at least took care of that baby and raised it after MC died. Also the whole royal family fell apart. ML truly loved her.

Magic obviously isn’t it, it’s reality, not a fairy tale. You can’t expect everything to be goody. This is why people can’t handle pain or the truth, that’s why lying exists, and that’s why people choose to run away, but it’s only natural for humans to not be able to handle pain, both physical and emotional pain.

I don’t mean to be rude. I’m very sorry, I sound harsh but I mean every word. At first I also hated the ML and low key wanted to murder him but we weren’t in his shoes to experience what he went through, same with MC. It is all up to MC. She is the lead in this story of hers.
Endgame is Crown prince and MC I’m pretty sure. And if you’re still going to be upset about it, you can be upset about it. I have no rights to stop you, you’re you. I’m me. We owe each other nothing. Just replying to each other, that’s all.
