Like, before I read this, I was like DOMESTIC VIOLENCE?? WHAT A FUCKING ASSHOLE? WHAT IS HE TO DO THAT TO SOMEONE ELSE? Know your fucking place you Kan-chan mother fucker.

And then after reading this,
OF COURSE domestic violence IS NEVER EVER OKAY IN ANY WHAT SO WAY EVER!! but, it gives us that 'oh wow, at least we know why and that he never lashed out because he was a bad person where his violence came out from his own will or anything. damn, i understand now. its like that fog has been cleared up.' of course as while readying my machete and shotgun and katana and scalpels and chainsaws with some plastic bags and trash bags to go and mow those assholes down.

Thank you so much for putting this out sensei. (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

Yeah it was really important to see so that the readers can understand his character rather than just write him off as the bad guy. I feel really bad for Kan chan. Here we see what it does to have your first serious job and end up working at a crazy firm where you're told that somebody with your background can never move up. You'd believe it. He hadn't experienced anything else yet so he wouldn't know that its wrong and that he can work somewhere else where he wouldn't be treated this way. All the pressure too... I don't forgive him for domestic abuse, but I can now understand his character

I think so as well. It shows his character change in a very good way and why Yumi stayed with him for so long.
Now I just hope that Kai will be happy in the future as well.
