dropped because i'm personally tired of fragility being held as a feminine ideal even if it's understandable for this particular story/ccontext

what is it with the huge difference in body size between the couple too like............................................................. why do all korean webnovel writers have a size difference fetish????????????????????????

There’s nothing wrong with fragility being a feminine ideal because there’s nothing wrong with fragility in general. She’s trying her best despite being scared and abused all her life of course it’s a slow process not every female lead has to be as outgoing as the villainess we’re used to or physically strong fighters.

Also there’s nothing wrong with a height difference couple. I know I love reading rebirth and villainess stories and usually they are all tall and gorgeous like super models and I’m just not that so it’s nice to see a short main character in a story like this

Just kiddin' .. I guess those were their standards and ideals. Being big and to protect for guys is masculinity and being fragile and small for girls is feminity. *The fact that they've exagge too much end up females look like graders being too smol

It's the way they describe the fragility in webnovels, like something you want a girl to be, which you really shouldn't /want/ anyone to be fragile.

Huh I haven't seen many manhwas with female leads as tall as the male leads, it's always one head shorter than the male lead.

I get where you're coming from, but I don't think this webnovel in particular describes her fragility as something feminine or desirable. She herself despises her fragility and it's shown that other characters look down on her for it (like her father, the knights) and she is constantly trying to improve herself and become stronger. In contrast, the female characters that are supposed to be desirable like her sister and the princess are both described as strong characters. The princess is described as the most desirable lady in the empire and she's powerful enough to go on the dragon expedition.

Melissa is a really good example and even if the female lead isn’t exactly the same height as the male lead that doesn’t mean they’re tall looking at them compared to other girls they’re at least 5’8 to 5’10 seeing how male leads are usually over 6’0

I think it’s because you see fragility as a bad thing while it’s not. There’s nothing wrong with being fragile it doesn’t mean you can’t be strong as well it’s not something negative. Male leads can be fragile in some ways especially those with tragic back stories but they don’t get the same hate as female leads who are. Not everyone needs to be emotionally or physically strong girls are allowed to be fragile and feminine and so are others

Oh I wasn't referring to this story in particular I mean in general there are way too many romance webnovels that /emphasize/ fragility as something /desirable/. Fragility isn't a turnoff for me or anything, but when physical weakness is considered a /turn-on/ then I get annoyed. In part because of the historical context that buff girls are considered ugly and that to be beautiful women had to look frail and delicate and something men wanted to protect. There's still lots of stigma about girls having muscles or thick thighs.

I know that there’s still a stigma as I’m a girl with thick thighs and not the “most desirable” body type but it still doesn’t sit right with me to hate on or blame smaller more “fragile” girls it’s not their fault at all and in a way it’s shaming them. Yes authors do use that trope a lot and I understand why that would turn you off but I try not to be bothered by it because it really is a reflection of real life the ML mentioned how he prefers girls like our FL and that’s just his preference for what best fits his personality and we shouldn’t hate that I’m sure you have types of people you perfer over others to when it comes to this subject. But I understand where you’re coming from

fduhfdlihdsilf I did mention in the op that this trope was ok for this story's particular situation context but I personally didn't find it my cup of tea.
