He probably hated her and saw her as an enemy thinking she was in the same boat as the dad. I think I remember her mentioning that the dad basically plotted for her crown princess position (maybe even killed the empress he loved?), which would explain why he looked at their child with disgust?
Though now that you mention it, it kinda makes senses.
She did everything for her baby she had with him. So if the story wants to reward her for seeing him again, the only way is for ML to be the Prince...
I just hope he treats her REALLY GOOD this time, she deserves it
Can't forget how he treated her in the past ngl, even if it was to protect her and whatnot
