there's really no major connection with the main story.
In the main story Gyrin was rejected by Doona because she wasn't into serious relationship (the flashback she had during her breakdown).
idk, i think that's like the only connection (??) it has.
and basically this side story is it's own story, there's almost not much to get from the main one. hope that helps :))
