The ending in The Untamed is not accurate to the move. In the novel, after the events in the Guanyin Temple, they both decided to travel together with little apple, the novel ends up there and then the extra chapters come :)

I finished watching the drama. And in the last episode, it shows how lan zhan and wei wuxian part ways. However then, (with a different outfit) it shows wuxian playing the flute in the same spot and lan zhan calls his name. The end.
And in the comments, i read 2 things. One was that after they parted ways, a couple of months passed by And Then they met and became a couple. However someone else claimed them to have actually chosen to travel together for months and then they went back.
So what actlly happened? and both ppl claimed to have read the novel.
