I don't like WoWo. He's supposed to be 1 and a half but he's operating more on a toddler level. I kinda hate how Manhuas will make the children some sort of ultra-observant, genius brats and play them off as "normal"

I kinda get what you mean, it’s not only in Manhua but Manga and webtoons too. Children are usually way too intelligent for their age (they act like 10 yrs old when they’re only what 3?) - but I think that’s better than having annoying brats lmao

It’s really not that far off from real kids though. In this day and age, kids are a lot smarter and more aware of their surroundings. They may not understand everything but they can at least understand somethings. My little cousin is 2 and she talks like she’s at least 6-7, even some of the things she does is more mature for a 2 year old.

my cousin was literally just about 2 years old when he started speaking like a normal kid and the brat already knows the alphabet, numbers, and some cars and stuffs as such at that age. there are really just some kids that are way smarter than the majority so yeah

No, Wowo is stated to be one and a half, so like 18 months old. And the developmental milestones between 18 months and 2 years are very different. During those six months, their vocabulary can triple, they gain more motor and cognitive functions such as remembering and recognizing familiar things. So it'd make sense that 2 year olds could talk about things they have been taught and are familiar to them, but children around 18 months speak in very few words.

Don't get me wrong, WoWo is a cute baby, but the way he is written sucks considering he's supposed to be a "normal" child. A more realistic portrayal of a genius child is Taeyang in Struggle. Mainly because she is older and defined as a gifted child, so if she does something more mature, it's reasonable.

I read this because I'm a sucker for cliche revenge Manhuas, but every time I see WoWo, I just have to try and pretend he's older, otherwise it just annoys me.
