While I agree to an extent- I think it’s rather clever.
The original Elise in her first life (where she was beheaded) got reincarnated into an unfortunate circumstances with her memories still intact- as though she was atoning for her past sins. Her redemption came where she was sent back into her old body with a second chance, and after she gained that happy ending, she finally reincarnated properly without the burden of her past weighing on her being. Alongside that, her soulmate became reincarnated with her- allowing her true happiness till the end. I’m sad we didn’t get to see their epilogue, but I’m happy it ended on a bittersweet note- as most stories should.

I think it was so that she could repair to her errors. She died in her first life as Elise because she wasn't kind enough then born again in modern society but died young there too and woke up in her original body. She made it so that the same tragedies didn't happen again. She didn't reincarnate again and just lived the life she deserved. I think it's cute that their souls found themselves together again after a century.
Am i the only one whos confused about the ending? Like what was it a reincarnation of them? For what purpose? Idk if its just me but i thought it was a bit random
