I think she was still alive. In the novel, after Tia is rescued by Celdric, he tells her that her mother died at the hand of Lawrence so it must have been after she was put in prison. The mother only cared about Lawrence and Tia knew that. She was also aware that she would be betrayed/killed by Lawrence someday.

Does anyone know if Tia’s mom is alive when Laurence cuts Tia’s tongue and members. Cause in chapter 41, she keeps stating that she can only trust in her family, but Tia did not mention her mom when she said that her brother cut off her tongue and members. Btw I mean wtf you treated you daughter like trash, kept calling her ugly and dumb and expects her forgive and forget cause of blood. Makes no sense to me!
