I say go for it, its enjoyable but it has some questionable things. It gets better and some things are filled in but you should form you own opinions.
Not worth it. The male lead is a sex slave for the empress female lead. And the fl rapes him and gest all fussy when he doesn’t want to have sex. Everyone would batshit mad if the gender was reversed.

Don't listen to the above person..sounds like they didn't read properly and just skim through it..At first she treated him like a slave but they've already developed feelings for each other and now finding ways to keep each other for themselves as u know she's a queen and can't be with a consort only..she has to choose her king to which she's planning something..And she's massively strong both physically and as a character..
Just try a few chapters..if it's not a cup of your tea then drop it..I usually try 3 chapaters at least like the 3 epi anime rule.

If you've read Daughter of the Emperor, then this should be fine. The dad in Daughter of the Emperor has many concubines that are war slaves and tributes from conquered nations. Here, it's the same dynamic. The Empress conquers a nation and takes in the surviving prince as her concubine. Obviously the dad from Daughter of the Emperor and the Empress from this story (FL) sleep with their concubines.
I'd say emperor from Daughter of the Emperor has worse personality, since our Empress doesn't kill someone on a whim. She's level headed, and although may act like a tyrant at times, she's not really a tyrant.
