It ties in with time concept where eren can see memories from the past and the future. So in the first chapter he was probably seeing his last memory before mikasa killed him.

This was really something! But I still don’t get one thing; in the very first chapter why did eren cry and why did he hear someone saying “see you later” and another thing, why did he tell mikasa her hair has grown longer? Can someone please please please tell me?
