Uh from my understanding there are many levels of bi. The straight that later become gay or bi because they're currently in love with the same sex but still call themselves straight because they still feel attracted to the opposite sex in general, those are called "Heteroflex".

Heteroflex is another umbrella term of bi which the homo part is very little compare to the hetero part (like 9:1), in other words, they're mostly straight and it's more comfy to define themselves as straight (because they feel attached to the term straight rather than bi). I'm a Heteroflex myself so I kinda understand. I'm attracted to men in general but I used to have a romantic relationship with a woman (currently with a man). I learned I can fall in love with a woman even though I'm basically not attracted to woman. Because there're a slight of homo part exist in me. So I think the straight x gay or straight x straight pairings in BL, it happens because the 'straight' is actually a Heteroflex (but you know this term is uncommon and most Heteroflex go with the term 'straight')
