If I remember correctly, he was a researcher/prof/office worker when a fire broke in the building causing Ning Ye's ex's death. They said that he wasn't really the culprit because he was really responsible especially w regard to safety measures. But someone made him a scapegoat for the incident.

True. But I think they'll reveal something about the incident. Just a guess, but I think Ning Ye already knows Mu's father is the suspect. That's why he was firm on the divorce 3 years ago. Well, ex is still irrelevant. My theory is all based on Ning Ye's stupidity
