he is an asshole if he taking into his hands all the decision-making they suppose to decide TOGETHER! like he did from the start, he does not need a boyfriend, he needs a dog. it will be the same thing.

he has to tell his partner FIRST before making any decision! he has no right to make this decision alone even if he is carrying it! THE SAME HAS THE RIGHT TO KNOW AND DECIDE TOO! he is been an asshole all over again with all the power to make the decision he has no right to make alone! why he need a partner anyway?! for decoration or for him to act like a dog and say yes to everything he does?!
