I don't don't know if you know but we are going to get "beautiful" side story about Minho being a sex slave of his rapist. I won't be even surprised if author will push Stockholm Syndrome judging on the teaser picture.

Yeah it’s so messed up. At the start I thought that the story would probably surround the growth of dunas and haesols relationship and go from the non consensual “punishing” in the first chapters to at the end a healthy relationship. I mean I personally don’t like how a lot of manhwa have this plot “from rape/abuse to a healthy couple” but that’s what I excepted cuz it’s really common and I hoped that it would draw attention to the different aspects of bdsm like for example consent and coming with that also save words and the importance of being comfortable and okay with everything that’s going down and so on and on. And this story touched those topics at one point but it didn’t actually matter to me and from my view doesn’t “point out how bad their behavior now is in contrast to how it was when duna got into bdsm and she cared for the sub and said some important stuff” but just rushes over that in one chapter and then again continued to normalize rape

Yeah fr and as far as I know in South Korea there’s a ton of problems regarding the law and society as a whole when It comes to rape and victim blaming so it’s pretty ironic how even in a ton of manhwas that involve rape and especially in this one it’s just normalized and made to fit into that fucked up society instead of criticizing it.

Sike u must be on the site a lot then, I usually don't comment much , but I saw sooo many angry Comments on this manhua and went to check what's happening, I havnt caught up on the manhua itself but seeing ppl's reaction and whatever the shity plotline I have until I'm womderinf if it's worth reading, like sure I was initially was interested due to the bdsm content, but this author is clearly not THAT educated or aware of it. Anyways it was great talking to u, I wouldn't mind giving u my socials if u would like to have enriching debates and discussion w me :-)
Damn this was a ride. It’s actually the first story ever where I was deeply disgusted and well I still am. I mean I kept reading cuz I wanted to know what will happen so I will give that to the author but it’s just horrible. There is so much in this story wrong. And from my personal view of this story I don‘t feel like the harsh themes (rape, abuse,...) where handled well at all. Just disgusting and romanticized and if not romanticized then for sure normalized. And that whole bdsm stuff. Could’ve been a great part of the story and could’ve shown how some people try to hide behind the term “bdsm” and actually try to abuse people. But this is not even close to that. The author does show abuse and tries to push it into the “bdsm” category but it’s just toxic and oh boy just ... no.
Some other aspect I didn’t enjoy was the way the author tried to humanize the abusers. An example would be the last few chapters. Duna (and haesol) does horrible things to minho and then in the next chapter she helps him shower and if that wouldn’t be enough, in the next scene we see a flashback of Minho being an asshole. As if that would justify dunas behavior.
And also about the ending. First off what the hell. I felt like that came out of nowhere and the author was given one chapter (or maybe two) to wrap up the whole story. I could imagine that at least 4 more chapters would’ve fit here (that could concentrate a little on Minho and his new “boyfriend” and also on duna and haesol) and easily there could’ve been more. And even if it would still end on VERY toxic terms, that at least could’ve given the story a smooth ending and not leave it extremely open (what in my opinion doesn’t fit the style of the whole story), also leaving a ton of questions and rushing some character development in the last few seconds. And I think that dunas character development fit at all because she had a lot more fitting moments in the story where she actually could’ve reflected and changed over time but at the very end I just don’t see how her “ultimately breaking up” with Minho would lead to that, considering that they both already went through that situation more than one time.
There are so many things that are simply just WRONG about the ending (btw I’m using terms like “wrong” and “disgusting” cuz as I already said it’s not a manhwa where the topics actually get handled well. An example for a well known manhwa that actually would do that: killing stalking. And to just roughly say it: killing stalking and sadistic beauty can be totally compared in the way that it well treats rape, abuse, violence and something labeled as love. And lemme tell u. In only this view sadistic beauty sucks dick).
And there maybe would’ve been a way to end this story in a way that has some “deeper meaning” and doesn’t just glorify mentally and physically abusing people and either gives some goddamn karma to all those people or shows in a good mhm GOOD way how people in our society can do all those things and get away with it. But the problem with the second option would be that I think the whole story should’ve been established in a completely different way and go either deeper into the actual problem that rape obviously is and how people handle toxic behavior or include more problems (for example include the police like maybe Minho tries to somehow reach the police and while he doesn’t get the response from then that he would like and deserve, duna would get involved and try to idfk drag him back and remind him where his place is and this is just some random idea so don’t take it too seriously lol)
So yeah I think that’s it. This is a big ass paragraph but I had to let out my thoughts. And well on the terms that the mahwa ended now I don’t like it and am pretty disgusted by it. And that in the worst way possible lmao
This story is bad and even tho I like the character designs and I loved haesol for a really long part of the mahwa, it’s just not good. (I also wanted to point out the inconveniences of the story, that was something that annoyed the gell out of me and also some plot holes and just stuff that doesn’t fit the characters and the story as a whole. Also the translater called out a lot and I loved the comments. On some I didn’t agree fully but I think almost everything was spot on and in all it was just nice to read someone else’s opinion on the story and I don’t get how some people were so damn angry in the comments. If someone got a problem then go read it on an official side you poor fuck.)
