Towards the end Vincent finally accepts his mothers love and takes her side. Ercella suddenly gets sick causing her to leave her mothers home country with Vincent to look for a cure to her disease. Upon returning, Caron her brother is dead (Reason is too lengthy to add). He leaves a will addressing Ercella as the next Marquis instead of his son the destined heir. Because she can’t hold the Visaride and Bernhardt name at the same time, Ercella decides to file a divorce with agreement from Harsen. She becomes the Marquis and tries to find out the reason Caron left this will in her name. From a deciphering skill taught by Harsen, Ercella finds out that:
Duke Bernhardt, Duke Garten & Grand Duke Callix of Bethel (King's half brother) are planning a rebellion to make Callix King. Harsen having already lost his wife, has nothing to gain from the rebellion but it was too late to turn back. Harsen disowns his son Vincent to protect him in case the rebellion fails (Vincent knew about this). Ercella tries to stop the rebellion by going to the country the rebel forces made contract with to make negotiations to try and save Harsen from death. This is because if she went to the King, Harsen would automatically be deemed a traitor by involvement. If the rebellion succeeds, her nephew (the Crown Prince) will die and the Visaride family who supported him will lose their position.
After many chapters she succeeds in this because the rebellion begins, but soon after because the back up did not come it ended up failing which leads the rebels to be sentenced to death.
Harsen as a participant in the rebellion asks to see Ercella (who was in another country) as his dying wish. Harsen is sent to a land where he expected to be executed but there he finds Ercella. This ends the novel.

DISCLAIMER (via side story): Harsen didn't really die, but he was recorded dead as a traitor so he can't go back. Ercella tells Harsen that although she can't forgive him, she loves him and doesn’t want to live without him (Harsen seemed to have lived for that moment). They leave for her mothers country where she has a royal status. From Harsen's point of view, we discover he actually loved Ercella and tried to give her everything to keep her by his side.

EXTRA:
- Vincent lost his original status, he refuses the Kings offered title of a Count to later go to his parents' side.
- Ercella proposed to Harsen again (Only engaged, not married)
- Three of them grow closer in a healthy way as a family. Towards the end of the side story Ercella ends pregnant again but is determined to be a good mother to both 19 y.o Vincent and the child to be born.
- In the side stories we see more of Eshahild, Caron, explanation for the original timeline after her death and how Ercella came back in time.

THE END

I believe they divorced so that she could succeed her brother for the next Marquis. I don't think she can take the role being already married to a Duke and being a Duchess of house Bernhardt. She divorced him to accept her brothers will of succession.
