I got hooked up after a couple of chapters, the first time I read it I was bored and only wanted to see the romance, but the 2nd time I read it I was interested in the story and the plot and that made it enjoyable, if you’re not enjoying it leave it and come back later when you’re in the mood for drama/mafia/action kind of story

I dare to say that the very first chapters, sensei did not really know where she was going. As a matter of fact the first chapter was supposed to be a standalone, but so many people liked it that she was asked to create a series from it.
But chapter two and three, there really is not anything happening in terms of character development. It's just a setup and sensei's ideas were still changing.
I'd say you'd have to read at least the "Flower on the High Loft" arc, to get a picture, because that was when sensei really started to create background and character development.
I'd say give it a try until chapter 13.

I started this because I have just found out about Yaoi. This one had the best rating overall so I gave it a try. At first I was shocked by the (sexual) violence of the first chapter but also, paradoxically, liked the dynamic of a strong powerful seme vs cute uke type of cliche so I kept reading. I did not got hooked and I was very confused with the order of the chapters and the extras and everything! Maaaaaan, it was such a mess. I did not understand shit! So I stopped and came back again few months later because honestly, there were not very qualitative yaoi like this one back then. I took my time to understand the chronology and the plot. I googled it and read forums and blogs and I was finally able to keep up with the story. After that, it was pure delight! I don't know how many times I've read it so far! And surprisingly, every time I give it a new read, I discover some new stuff I missed. I love this manga and it's still in my TOP 3! I can't wait for a new chapter to be released. My advice, give it enough time and rather than reading most chapters just read over the first ones so you can understand clearly what's going on.
I just read the first three chapters, since I've always been curious about this but never really got to sit and actually read it. Around what chapter did you get hooked up? I'm not sure if I'm reading this with the right attitude.
