I don't think he took the phone away. I saw in the raws I can't understand Korean but it seems like the phone was behind the couch or something.

I used to be able to enjoy stories/scenarios like these but after getting out of a situation with a controlling dude I can no longer find joy in it.
Your partner should never take your phone, ask you to not leave the house, say "I'm sorry" and "I love you" in the same sentence to kwep you hooked and blinded by the bullshit. Matthew isn't sorry about what he did in the slightest. These are red flags and this is abuse. It's hard to understand until you're in the situation. It starts with controllung behavior, manipulation and lies, bur it progresses to arguments and then it gets physical. Please don't ever think this behavior is okay, because it's not.
