He was a sick child, got married with a 19 years old girl when he was just 14... His mother want him to get an heir quickly because she's worried he will die before having a child and the throne will get taken by his half-brother... His wife have the same obsession with his mother... So the king was raped or something (because he clearly didn't want to have sex at 14) and blanche was born when the king was 15
A woman who got raped will obviously can't even look at her child, maybe it's the same for man (despite he's not the one who gave birth to blanche, but maybe seeing blanche reminds him about how his mother and his wife forced him to have an heir), so yeah that's why he's cold to blanche, and i think it's excusable
I have a feeling that the reason why he’s so cold is the same as every other cold emperor thing, he was treated the same as Blanche when he was young—- so affection is new to him, also is that fucking nutmeg, that much can kill a child, thank god she hates asparagus
Blanche could’ve died jfc, but now the queen is high-
