Same thoughts! At least give the story a chance. If you end up not liking it then drop it. It seems to be a thing now to constantly comment hate ╥﹏╥ words are hurtful! You can still comment that you don't like a character without the hate. We're all free to read and drop anytime.

It's more that people are over reacting because they fear the "sudden harem curse" that ruins so many of these.

Like the story will be good and the characters are interesting, but then they add in 3 girls who suddenly love the main character don't have any substance to them and you just miss how it was before they showed up or before they started liking the main character. They also often times have no character other than liking the main character, and if they had some character before they liked the main character they typically lose it completely other than basic archetypes like being a tsundere. So in the end the author is just adding in the 3 or more girls for wish fulfillment in male readers (Bleh), which in itself is ignoring the idea that women have free will and objectifies women as mere tools to fulfill the desires of men.

So more or less people are just going "oh no not this again" and assuming the worst. I

No most people in this community just don't like women in stories and must authors don't write them well anyway which exacerbates the problem. You're points are good and valid but men don't give a shit about wish fulfillment if the women are quiet, hot, and don't get involved with the action heavily. Take Hinata from Naruto vs Sakura, or Highschool DxD and other Ecchi. There's actually an amazing vid on why this happens if you'd like a link.

I can see why they’re worried but I do agree this is a little too quick for people to get heated over a girl. Maybe it’s cause the characters are still kids. But I didn’t even feel a hint of romance. Could be a development later of course. But these reactions in the comments feel too early. XD

Omg haha she’s so funny and so so right, it’s kind of soured my love for manga,, I just started hating how women are portrayed in these things. It’s so so unrealistic and so bloody infuriating.. harems are an extension of that and somehow worse than poorly scripted romance? (〜￣△￣)〜

Well, personally I've been traumatized by women that were written by men in such webtoons... most of the time they are useless and ruin the story . As for this one, so far I'm okay with that kid, I'm not getting annoying dumb bish vibes from her and MC treat her as a kid/friend not a potential love interest.

I get how they’re worried but it’s pointless. This is a fantasy story centered in martial arts. If there is romance, it’s usually in the background and mostly hinted. Not even in the real world will they find lack of romantic interest.

I never said that romance was good I was asking why people immediately jump at the chance to shit on a female character. It's just that simple. So be mature or leave.

I think Obsession was mainly saying that a lot of people find the romance aspect unnecessary and a nuisance to enjoying the adventure story and exploring the fantasy world that that adventure is set in, but just wasn't being as detailed or wordy with their opinion as the rest of us are being. I don't think he/she was trying to dismiss what we were saying or acting like he/she is the only one who can have an opinion. I could be wrong though.

I honestly kind of agree that it would be nice to have a no romance adventure story with a male (or female) main character as a change of pace. That's why I really enjoyed Trash of the Count's Family.

A bit off-topic, but if you like those types of stories that don't get derailed by romance I really can't recommend Solo Leveling, Trash of the Count's Family, and SSS Class Suicide Hunter enough. They all have no romance and no annoying fan service bits, coupled with amazing art, good characters, and good plots.

As someone who has read waaaaaaaay more manga, manhwa, and manhuas than I probably should, I can confidently say that these are ranked among the best I've ever read. On that note, I've been keeping this one high on that mental list too, so hopefully it doesn't take a turn.

And I understand it not being necessary and I'm not saying it is but I'm also saying that it's shoehorned in when it done properly it could make a story better not worse. No one should be trashing the female characters or all female characters for that. You should be trashing the author choosing to include a romance where it doesn't fit as adding it as a "get the girl" after thought instead of the romance being something that makes both of the characters grow as people and pushes the storyline forward.
