can you please tell me what angst mean? like I googled it but somehow it dont make sense still

i associate the word "angst" with intense anxiety and pain (hope that helps ^^)

The “angst” in stories, more commonly in romance, refers to the pain or suffering (may it be pining, breakup, separation) that characters will experience due to events or their own emotion, which gives some “sting” to the story. Sometimes angst is liked in slowburn plots to prolong the gratification of two characters ultimately ending up together.
