I really like the story but tbh I feel like s2 doesn’t really connect to s1:/ it feels like i’m reading an entirely different novel

Omg lol, read the novel then and come back. It’s based on the novel so the story is properly connected, just art changed to be more accurate to depictions in the novel

I know it’s based on the novel and I don’t think it’s the art. I also read the five last chapters of s1 before starting to read s2 and it feels like we kind off missed a lot between those two idk I wish we would’ve learned more about the world first but maybe that’s to come later on.

i agree with you, the novel has more explaination on the political situation, anf his decision to go to haramark, as well as a deepening of the MC caracter through our vision of his relationship with his family. There's also a reflection on his wish to enter dylan's team, wich in the novel has to do with the power of his eyes and his research on it. All this connect the 2 seasons in the novel but is reduced or brushed off in the manhua to concentrate on the action. I can underrstand that decision but with the change of art, i have the same problem as you @perfberry

thank you for explaining. do you think I have to read the entire novel or can I just start at the point where s1 ends? so i can catch up with what is happening right now

I think you can read the novel from the end of s1 without much problems, it's chapter 38 titled "miss foxy". Or if you like details, and you want the very beginning of his questions on the power of his eyes you can read from chapter 29 or 30 which is when in the book he sees the golden comandmand for the first time, there are a few differences and more details on his reflection, but it's not really necessary. I hope you'll like it!
