Let's start with the admission that in any story, there are characters I like best and I read with a bias. Some people cheer of a given sports team. Other people follow a particular politician. I like certain fictional characters. In this manga, I love Azusa. So with that said, for me this extra was entertaining, but I didn't actually like either character in the pairing. Chapter 11 is also not about my fav, but at least the pictures make it seem as if the focus is on someone a bit twisted and complex. Chicken boy and his muscle are more like RL bullies I actually knew in high school. You can see the reasons why they are like the way the are, but the reasons are not that complex and it's hard for me to sympathize with them. There are some good moments in the extra, and it's worth reading, but I am still waiting for 11--and I really want the story to go back to Asuza. But that's just me. I know other people may like it.
I would say to me they were okay, but not my OTP. It's interesting, but not the best of the series.
Now that chapter 10. 5 is available in English, I'll say it confirmed what I thought about Yukari. He's the classic bully--the one who takes out his self-esteem issues on others who are weaker than him. He would do that no matter what school he was in. It's hard to feel sorry for him. I was pleasantly surprised that the one I was thinking of as "Pinky" from Pinky and the Brain" is a bit more devious than I had initially thought.
I will grant the "Karino feels for Azusa" people that in this extra, it at least shows that Azusa and Karino are always all about each other, no matter which roles they have. At least, that's how it seems to chicken boy.
