I read the novel and it's some kind of spice, but if you put more than the normal amount, you can get hallucinations and even more than that, some kind of complication that could be fatal. Not sure of the details but yea (and PS. children's doses are less than those of adults so you can imagine what could've happened if Blanche ate that shit)
