The origin of the curse goes back to the kingdomes first emperor, whom was cursed for spilling to much blood and causing to much pain.
The curse is that male members of the emperial family will die young from being killed by their loved one (the person they love the moste in the world).
The only way to break the curse is for a princess to be born. Part of the curse is only males are born and females are super rare so the emperor has to have several women..
Also because of the curse members of the family are cold and "tyrant" like and keep women at a distance.
The empirial family also have the trait of color changing eyes based on emotions, hence how they prowe if a girl claimed to be "born" is real or fake.
Fl's mother was the emperors favorit woman so many nobels wanted her gone so their daughters could have a chance of bearing a daughter. Any woman whom bares a female with the emperial blood prowen becomes empress.
Fl's mom was gotten rid of by said nobels and she was sold right after birth to prevent the family from looking for her as slavery is banned in the Empirer.
