Abandoned Princess is so frustrating the ML doesn't even have any redeeming arc to be redeemed. He'e just a plain As*hole while the ML here has something to redeem he's not as bad as what he portrays in the past. It's more like he did it cause he knew that Veronica is not really Veronica and that Veronica's father will absolutely kill her once she's found out so the ML continued to pretend with a plan in mind it's just so happen that he was too late and he just found out that Elena is already dead. As from what I can understand.
I disagree, this is why this story is better! we actually don't see what really happen in the past. so we can't judge he prince or his actions. we only have the narrow pov of the FL but not the prince actions.
so you can't say it toxic since he didn't kill her, it the bitch and duke that kill her!

actually, the prince knows that she’s not the real one. he loves her so much but sadly she gave birth to a boy which makes her life threatened coz he knows that she would be harmed. he somewhat knew that the real one was going to take over her place. He was mad because of the situation and he couldnt protect her so that’s why he acted like that which caused misunderstandings. after she died, the prince said to Ian something along these lines, “dont forget your mother. she’s the most beautiful and smartest woman I’ve ever met”. He loves her deeply ╥﹏╥
i think it's goin the abandoned empress route. HUHEUEHEUEUEUE it would have been better if she just left and liver her life elsewhere after getting revenge. No BS toxic love from the past.
