Right? This is such a good story and a accurate representation of real life

Indeed lol. story genre exists for a reason myghad. giving low rating to a story that's supposed to be on dark and psychological side because it portrays something that clearly fits the genre is just plain ridiculous

I think most people don't like the way Harada (in particular in this story that treated a very delicate subject as pedophilia) portrays them. I think Harada's trying to show the story through the eyes of Yui (who's clearly unstable and well, scarred by his trauma) and kinda romanticized the whole thing as if he didn't just go through sexual assault.
Even though I would've preferred if it wasn't treated like this, I can see how that helps the narration of the story. It's a delicate subject as I already said and I think it's wrong to judge people who don't like this kind of story telling, it feels disgusting because you're seeing through Yui's eyes without actually having experienced the same trauma, and so, without actually having the same unstable mind that allowed this "love" to exist to begin with.

I don't actually believe Harada's intentions here were to romanticize their relationship, a clear exemple of romaticized abuse to me would the webtoon The warehouse. I feel as tho in this situation, he's trying to show how so many deeply traumatized people just end up refusing to accept or even realize they have deep trauma that needs professional help and how that denial can push them to normalize their maladaptive beahviour and later on reproduce it on other people. That being said i still see how the ending can make ppl uncomfortable.

no no of course not, I meant Yui*, Yui definitely romanticized his trauma, which is a consequence of it and the way it was treated by those around him but that's another topic hahaha.
I completely agree with you, it was just a different point of view and a possible reason to all the low rating, I would never say Harada romanticizes pedophilia also because it's clear she (i think she, not sure about their gender) doesn't.
(*I think the confusing part of my comment is: "show the story through the eyes of Yui (who's clearly unstable and well, scarred by his trauma) and kinda romanticized the whole thing as if he didn't just go through sexual assault." the last 2 phrases were still referred to Yui, not Harada. I apologize for making it seem different hahaha)
