I wonder why the ire always goes to the women in the story? It's always "why do men fall for girls like that, will never be me." But the male leads are also equally, maybe even more, one dimensional and as spineless as the original FL (with good reason, as seen here). It's something that happens a lot sadly
i agree, but i do have to wonder did the priest or the redhead do anything particularly assholey to helena? i thought the knight pledge was something helena could reject if wanted? and while i do think their overprotectiveness is overstepping their boundaries, i thought they treated helena like a friend, even though they may have romantic feelings for her?
yeah, i mean, in this story, technically he was the one who cheated despite having a fiance. Helena refused him and tried to avoid him(in a polite way of course, since he can easily kill her, she's just a maid), yet Eris still like the trash prince and hated on her.And all those people hating on Helena when she's just used like a doll is like hating on a victim. I find it ridiculous. The previous Eris was surely wronged by the asshole prince but she was also doing some really awful things to the wrong person. She destroyed her life for someone who was definitely not worth it. I hate when they immediately make the man innocent who just git bewitched when in fact he is just an asshole, capable of making decisions and he chose to betray her. Not to mention he disregards the feelings of Helena who is literally acting like a broken doll and considers it obvious that she should be his. All he sees is his feelings which make him pretty much an egocentric asshole.
oof, sorry for the huge paragraph
First of all, she refused yet he quickly stepped down and immediately did the pledge as a knight(which will be to literally follow her around 24/24 to "protect her"). He disregarded her polite refusal since you see, she can't be harsh to anyone, she's just a maid and anyone can kill her with no consequences. He status is really low. The prince also followed her around, and did many romantic gestures towards her despite her trying her best to show him that she just wants to be friends (since she can't completely avoid him). She's no noble who can do anything and refuse anyone. She's wrightfuly an afraid (naive too) person. i nearly cried my eyes out when i saw in the novel how she was treated by the previous Eris and the fucking prince who only cares about himself.
oh fuck i completely missed the fact that she rejected his knight proposal LMAO okay i see. wait that's super annoying of him lmaooo imma stab him the next time i see him. wait when you say 'the prince followed her around' did you mean the priest? because damn >:( that's a real dick move.
also yeah mr. prince,,,, he's,,,, bro i can't even think about this man without my blood pressure skyrocketing through the roof. like god i feel so bad for helena and eris, it must be super lonely or invalidating to be either of them.

Helena is 100% innocent. She's not the one who goes around those assholes, they are the ones who follow her despite her refusing. She can't do anything because she's just a maid. In case you didn't notice, the red haired asshole is the one who pledged without asking for her permission despite her refusing. If you need to hate someone, you can rightfully hate that 3 piece of trash. Helena has gone through a whole fucking lot and the previous Eris treated her truly like shit, even asking her to prostitute herself, instead of releasing her hatred to that piece of shit trash prince. Just see it from her point of view. She's so weak that anyone could kill her with no consequences. She was scared, defeated and literally harassed daily when it wasn't even her fault.
