They both suck. And just a spoiler FYI the emperor is infertile. Another thing it’s hard to pity her when she actively tries to sabotage Navier like with that bird situation that recently happened. She claims to want to be sisters and everything yet she should know based on where she came from why Navier basically hates her but instead she just goes about doing stupid shit.
I highly agree of Sovieshu being a total shitbag however, in my opinion, Rashta isn't close to being pitiful. I mean it takes two to tango right? And the FACT that she keeps on sabotaging Navier to get what she wants is neither pitiful nor sad. I get it she has a bad past to make her who she are rn but really, you shouldn't make it a reason to snatch someone's place and make it your own. She's becoming trash as chapters goes on and you know, sometimes being ignorant is realllyyy a bad thing.
Just take this as an issue of cheating, she knows but she still keep pushing it.
Anyway to end this, SOVIESHU REALLY IS DUMB AND SHIT.

Rashta seems pitiful. In every single action, I only find Sovieshu the bastard. He wanted someone innocent, naive and would only think of him. Navier didn't fit the bill because she is the boss of her own life and is bloody brilliant, one of the best empresses ever.
So, he got Rashta. Now, he wants her to act like a princess and is forcing someone who actually managed to learn letters this late in her life to mug up more and that too, when she is pregnant and is already distressed about how she doesn't fit into societal standing?
Sovieshu is just a selfish bastard who dragged two women, who would never have come in contact otherwise, into a total mess.
I don't blame Rashta. She is from a different world. And she is trying her damndest to fit in even when her husband is a fucking moron. At least if she was a scheming woman, it would've saved her from the wolves that society can be. At least when she dies, she knows she died with what she would consider as honor. But because she is stupidly naive, she takes stupid and rash decisions that only sets up her as an idiot, which i suppose in many ways satisfies Sovieshu's thirst to save the 'damsel in distress.'
More and more I think about, Sovieshu reminds me of that fucked up prince in Lady Medea's story.
I don't hate Rashta or want to call her Trashta. I see a woman trying to survive in a patriarchal world, a world divided by class, where she had the misfortune of having a lower birth. She didn't even dream of being an empress. Others put it in her head. And I see another woman, who puts all her efforts into working for her people and doing her best by them. She is a truly amazing empress. And these women are made to fight against each other for and by a worthless bastard like Sovieshu.
What a pity.
