Ok so i read the novel long time ago and therefore i might be wrong with a certain turn of events. But this is how it goes.

so the rulers gave his dad powers in order for him to live and ya know do shit for them. So the dad works under the rulers. The power is actually too much for him to handle or any human to handle tbh. But stuff happened and idk if i remembered correctly but the dad mightve died from going over the limit of his powers or the sovereigns injured him badly. Either way he died when they were battling the sovereigns in south korea. And yes he dies. But then something else happens and then hes alive.
