He's suspecting that the guy with the missing fingers is the guy Soo Young was with earlier in the story. Tae Seung had his fingers cut off because the guy tried to physically force Soo Young to stay in a relationship with him, like he always did when Soo Young was younger. He's the guy whose dad owns the boxing gym.
