Well I mean someone can’t control their sexuality, their born with it can’t choose to change. If he’s heterosexual it’s understandable he can’t fall for the male side. Would’ve been cute though.

but anyways with the emperor and yeon, I wouldn't even call it love on his side, more like lust since he was really attracted to her when he first saw her when she wasn't disguised, she could have been a spy but he didnt kill her cuz he basically thought she was hot imo but maybe its a bit more now but when I reread some things, I think he is also attracted to her male said, idk if its romantic or platonic but he is if that makes you feel better. he's always seen something in yeon :)
